 Every North Korean has to supply the government with 200 pounds of human excrement a day.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has mandated that every citizen donate about 90 kilograms of human excrement a day to the government in 2019, saying human excrement could directly contribute to economic and agricultural development. The North Korean government aims to produce high quality fertilizer at low cost using human excrement.

However, one person produces less than one kilogram of manure per day and those who cannot afford the amount expected by the government can be given another type of compost manure to use for food production, a major problem they have to pay for.

The human flower is nicknamed the "night soil" and has been used as a fertilizer since Greek times. However, even if they fail to provide the prescribed amount per day, they give to the government the amount that can be given to the people.

For this reason, a business has been set up to collect human excrement and sell it to the rich. Those who have money are tempted to pay for the amount of flowers they need per day. The government's move has angered the public, who say it is unjust to demand an unaffordable amount of human excrement.

It can be seen that the poor North Koreans have resorted to tactics such as stealing other people's excrement, mixing it with human excrement and increasing the size to complete their excrement. In addition, some areas are said to have a strong odor due to the temptation to place human feces in front of the houses where they live.
